Pre-wedding WIP

Body check-up
Venue: PATHLAB, Puchong
Date: February 2010

Just a formallity, we went blood test.. You know lar, he was a well-known XXO..!! Who know if he got AIDS..!! hahaa!! To be secure , I went with hubby to ensure that we are not HIV positive... (Actually, scary oso if he really got AIDS..!!)  It is a few simple steps: take blood and urine at the early morning, and wait for report.  Yeah! we both are safe. (Ya babe, he's indeed AIDS-free!!) But hubby is a bit high cholesterol.  Dear, control your foods!

Wedding ring
Venue: Wah Chan, Sunway Pyramid
Date: March 2010

This is the third times we went to Sunway Pyramid to get our ring, finally we satisfy with the quality.  This WC shop I could say their service is good, but handwork is really so so.
When reach the time to collect our rings, the size doesn't fit my finger.  Fine, have to wait for re-sizing it.

Second time we went to collect our rings, when I looked on my rings, OMG unbelievable that the ring was out of the shape, with bad finishings.  I really can't accept this kind of quality, my hubby said: "this is our wedding rings, we are not paying for pasar malam quality!"
End up they apologized and we gave them a chance to re-do again.

Luckily we were satisfy at last.  You see, only small rings also took us a month, definitely no regrets preparing early.

My Cheongsam (旗袍)
Date: March 2010

huh... I also forgot why I choose to wear Cheong Sam for registration day.
When considering that time, I surfed online to see others' ideas and their dressings, at last I've decided to wear cheong sam.
I guest I can be gorgeous, of course I don't have "Ms Hong Kong" body shape, but at least I can be "Ms Bkt Puchong".  Hahaa..

After decided, We surfed some cheong sam shops at Gurney plaza Penang and Petaling street KL.  Finally my hubby decided to find a tailor to custom made for me.. I surfed online and find reasonable price tailor in Klang valley.  At last I found Mrs Gan.

Mrs Gan is a patient and friendly tailor.  We met her in her house at Sea Park PJ.  She gave me recommendation and ideas what fabric I should buy and where to buy.  That day we decided to custom made two cheong sam, one for my registration, another one for my dinner.  On the same day, my hubby accompanied me go to KL - Fah Nam (华南)and opposite Sogo to buy fabric material , total cost us more than RM500.

Mrs Gan charge me quite reasonable labor cost and considered cheap in Klang valley area.

April 2010,  I went to collect my first cheong sam, I'm happy with her handwork, with a minor touch up, yeah my ROM dress is get ready! (Imagine, no cheong sam during ROM, what will happen? Of course I'll cry like mad..!! I don't wanna get married w/o cheong sam..!!)

At July 2010, I went to collect my 2nd cheong sam. No simple job dude... Two layers, pink outside + purple inside. I waited at her house about two hours, she modified a few times to make sure the dress fits my body.

It looked so elegance and I looked beautiful wearing this cheong sam, I love it so much!
I really appreciated her effort in making my wedding dress.  I am looking forward to wear this Cheong Sam in my wedding dinner this coming June 2011.  Perhaps I need to slim down a little bit to fit in this cheong sam.

Yuh, forgot to talk about my hubby dress on the registration day, to match with my cheong sam, I suggested to find a Chinese traditional man wear for him.  Ha...ha...ha... basically he have "deng sua ah pek" face (chinese uncle face), now wear this shirt look more similar.

Wedding Fair
Venue: Exhibition center, Mid Valley
Date: March 2010
(Our photo was published in Feb 2011 - "My Wedding" magazine! Ha...ha... so surprise!)

We attended the so called the biggest wedding fair at Mid Valley in one weekend.  We walk about two hours look see look see, finally we signed up a package.

We choose Stareast Sunway because two reasons - first the price as considered reasonable (after see 6-8 stores); second is the location - near to Puchong.  You must consider when you need to travel to studio more than 5 times from process of select dress, photo shooting, view album, amend album design until you take all the albums and frames.  Thus my priority is choose the nearest studio, definitely not KL area.

Research places to do outdoor photography
Venue: Taman Pertanian, Shah Alam (Botanic garden)
Date: April 2010

We cancel some options like:-
  • Putrajaya - all modern building, but we more prefer natural scenery
  • FRIM - have to extra pay RM50-80, we don't think this is unique place, since most wedding photos about the same, and not worth to pay for this.
  • Cameron Highland - we have to pay extra cost for one day outstation.
At last, we decided go to Taman Pertanian Shah Alam for a research, see any interesting places inside this so called Botanic Garden.  We pay RM3 per person, take an FOC bus, we found a few unique scene like dam, fish pond, field and tower.
Bingo, we found a suitable place. ;-)  Please feel free to visit our photo gallery.

Preparing before photography
Preparing For my shoes - I bought three pairs of shoes at Gurney Plaza Penang.
necklace - hubby bought a silver necklace to me during our honeymoon trip to Indonesia.  I planed to wear this for our photo shooting!  I love it so much!
Preparing For hubby - Normally guy's wear is very easy to buy, hi...hi...because they have not much choice.  We went to Jusco buy a white and black color long-sleeved shirt, Parkson for long pant, belt, soxes and one good shoes.  It is really a new set of clothes plus accessories for him.  This also will be his wedding wear in the coming June.
We prepare some accessories for our photography shooting, there are:-
  • Balloon
  • Toy windwheel (we bought it from Thean Hou Temple)
  • soup bubble (few years back bought at Bagan lalang)
  • piggy toy (we bought it at Petaling Street)
  • Proposed lovely flower
  • big polipop (I bought it from gift shop)
ha...ha...we prepare quite many accessories for our photo shooting, you can see the result in our photo galleries.

Actual Pre-wedding photography
Venue:  Taman Pertanian - outdoor photography
            Stareast studio - indoor photography
Date: 16 July 2010

We arrive studio at 9am, a while more the make up artist open the door.  She start explain what additional cost I have to pay myself, basically she rejected all ampouls and eyeslash that I bring and claim that mine can't give a perfect result.  What to do?! add money lor.... else don't know she will make up my face like what?!...fine, I pay extra RM350 for total kili kala.  Luckily I love the result, now only I understand why people said lady most beautiful when she is being bride, like me! (An ugly duckling can turn into a beutiful swan..) ha...ha...

Time 30mins pass 11am, we arrived Taman pertanian, we start feed fish at pond; playing bubble soap  beside dam; put windwill on field and walk along the way at tower.  We finished outdoor shooting around 1.30pm.

After took a simple lunch, I start change gowns, make up and change hair styles again.  I like the most the blue color evening gown, looked so elegance!  I totally change 4 gowns for indoor photography.  The shooting session end at 7.30pm.

I feel quite enjoy during the whole photography shooting process, and we were looking forward to see the results!

We're Engaged
Venue: Thean Hou Temple
Date: 20 May 2010

Day before after pass 12mid night, he brings a small cupcake with a light candle on top; sang a birthday song to me.  I feel touch but so sleepy that time, looked at the small cupcake, feel surprise and funny.  Thanks dear, even though the cup cake is small, but it is big enough to fill my heart.  ;-)

20 May is my birthday; we choose this date as our ROM date because I want this day not only for me, but special for us.  I love this date, because pronounciation of the number is similar to “
我爱你” in Mandarin.  Of course, I am a good wife that wants my hubby life simple and easy - Birthday + anniversary at the same day.
That day morning, I was glad that he still remembers to buy a bouquet of flower to me.  Hi…hi… actually I told him once I would like to have flower, but I thought he was not prepared.
We wait for a while then reach our turn to go inside a small room; there was a table with Buddha statue on top and simple backdrop.  With very quick action we sign on the blue color paper that passing around, then hubby and I stand up with right hand up and said “I do”.  After exchange rings, we took some photos in the room.  Inside my heart, “I already married?  It is so fast and simple process!” OMG, it took not even 10 minutes.
Yeah, one thing I shouldn’t forget was my hubby gave me a birthday surprise after official registration.  In front all of our friends, he brought a birthday cake, sang a birthday song walk to me.  That time I don’t know what to said ~ surprised and blushing.  He really thought and planned for today!  Thanks again lao gong, give a unforgettable memories.
I like Thean Hou Temple not only because this is my religious but mainly because it located at central KL and there are so many themes to take nice photos after the registration.  JPN Putrajaya is second choice in my list, there is a bigger room with modern and luxury government building surrounding.  Unfortunately they are not open for marriage registration on Thursday, but that day is only open for divorce couple, so don’t walk in on the wrong day!
Since that day, I called him as my老公; and he call me as 老婆。
